Translates in context
Not word by word: it reads the neighbouring segments, your terminology and your notes. The translation goes into the memoQ segment as if you had typed it, with its tags and formatting.
For translators who work in memoQ
CATnip is an AI assistant that sits beside memoQ. It knows which segment you are on, talks it through with you, translates it in context and checks your work, and writes the result straight into the segment, formatting and all.
Not on sale yet. An early version for Windows, in testing with a small group of translators. About the test
A minute and a half: CATnip translating a document into memoQ, talking through a segment, and learning from the project at the end. The text is a sample written for this video. There's no sound.
Not word by word: it reads the neighbouring segments, your terminology and your notes. The translation goes into the memoQ segment as if you had typed it, with its tags and formatting.
Ask why a phrase reads oddly, what a term means in this field, or for three other ways to say it. No browser, no copy and paste: it already knows what you are looking at.
One segment or the whole document. It points out what a reviewer would flag, and puts in the corrections you accept.
Terms, rules and preferences kept per project, per client or for all your work. At the end of a project it goes over your corrections and offers to turn them into notes, so you don't fix the same thing twice.
We are trying CATnip on real jobs with a small group of translators, to learn what works and what breaks. It is an early version, so things will. We can only take a few people, so we can't promise a place.
Your translation text goes from your computer to your own AI account, or to an AI program on your own computer. None of it reaches us. Whether a client allows AI on their text is between you and them; start with clients who do. The full privacy page
